Introduction
When cloudHQ can’t reach one of your cloud accounts (Google Drive, Box, Evernote, Dropbox, OneDrive and others), we send you an email saying the synchronization failed because of an authorization error. This note shows you how to fix it.
cloudHQ retries a few times first. If the authorization error doesn’t go away, the sync for that account stops and we email you the reason (the permission to access your account expired, or your login or password changed) with a link to authorize again. Once you re-authorize, cloudHQ picks the sync back up on its own.
How to re-authorize the account
This permission can only come from the account’s owner. We can’t grant it on your behalf. If you’re an IT admin, you can invite a user to authorize their cloud accounts.
If the authorization page shows the wrong account or fails
- Try the authorization again in a private (Incognito) window.
- Sign out of your other Google accounts, and turn off any pop-up blockers.
- Finish 2-step verification when the service asks for it.
Box
When Box keeps asking for authorization again and again, first make sure you signed in with the right Box account. Then ask your Box administrator to allow the cloudHQ app, using this note: How to enable cloudHQ in Box Enterprise. The connection can also be blocked by corporate security settings, for example Box Shield, a proxy or a firewall. For more steps see How to troubleshoot Box authorization errors.
