This guide shows how to reset Gmail signatures to work with Email Signature Generator by cloudHQ.

Sometimes, the default Gmail signatures don’t work with Email Signature Generator by cloudHQ. When this happens, you might notice these issues:

  1. Mobile signatures don’t function correctly
  2. Replies sometimes don’t show the correct signature

Steps to reset built-in Gmail signatures

Follow these steps to reset built-in Gmail signatures so they work with Email Signature Generator by cloudHQ:

  1. Log into your Gmail account on your desktop
  2. Open Gmail here: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?cloudHQ_allow_manual_signature_update=true#settings/general. Make sure ?cloudHQ_allow_manual_signature_update=true is in the URL.
  3. Check the following:

    • Delete any signature that is not “My Signature”
    • Set “My Signature” as the default signature
    • Enable the option Insert signature before quoted text in replies and remove the “–” line that precedes it.
  4. Scroll down and click Save.
  5. To test your signature on mobile, restart your Gmail app (swipe up).
