Introduction

If you want to test if the email tracker works, you need to know that Email Tracker by cloudHQ has a smart system to avoid “false positives” (when the email opens are not real).

Testing Email Tracker

Email tracking will not trigger a read notification if a test email is sent and opened in the same Google Chrome browser. So, if you send a test email from your account to another account of yours in the same Google Chrome browser, it won’t work.

Free Email Tracker can detect when the sender is reading their own email. When you open your own email, you won’t get any notifications. We aim to prevent inaccurate information about whether your email is read or not.

Steps to Test Email Tracker

To test Email Tracker by cloudHQ, make sure to follow these 3 steps:

  1. Send your test email to a different email account (tracking will not work if you send the email to yourself).
  2. Open the test email in a browser where you are not logged into cloudHQ.
  3. If opening the email on the same computer, wait at least 60 seconds. Our tracker ignores requests from the same computer for 60 seconds.

If you’re still unsure how to test this Chrome Extension, we suggest sending your test emails to a colleague or friend.
