Many CRMs, like HubSpot, let you save sent or received emails inside the CRM. In HubSpot, logged emails include the message and any attachments. Each email will be linked to the contact, their company, and their five most recent open deals. This helps you keep all information in one safe place in your CRM.

Why should you log your old emails in your CRM?

Logging emails in Clio Matters means saving email conversations directly to a specific matter so they become part of the case record. This allows all relevant communications (sent and received emails and attachments) to be stored, searchable, and accessible alongside documents, tasks, and billing for that matter.

How to use Multi Email Forward to log old emails to Clio matters

In Clio, Maildrop is a unique email address assigned to each legal matter that automatically files emails and attachments directly into that specific case’s communications log, saving time by eliminating manual uploading; you find the address in the matter’s Communications tab.

To log your old emails to Clio matter, you need to setup forward for each matter’s maildrop email address.

So here are step by step instructions how to do that:

• For each Clio matter do the following:
  1. Find your Clio matter Maildrop email addresses. The instructions on how to find are here: Configure Maildrop addresses and settings
  2. Select all emails that are related the matter.
  3. Click on the Multi Email Forward for Gmail icon and then select Forward emails individually:
     

  4. Enter your Clio Maildrop email address and press Enter or Tab so it turns blue. Then click Forward Emails:
     
  5. Go to your Multi Email Forward for Gmail dashboard to check the progress.
