Introduction

The Export and Parse Emails by cloudHQ app (also known as Export Emails to Sheets) lets you pull out http links from your emails (or documents). To extract https links, use our parsing editor with these simple steps.

Open Parsing Editor

Follow these steps to open the parsing editor. For other ways to access the parsing editor, check this support note: How to access parsing editor directly from spreadsheet?

  • Open your export job options page: Either at the final step of the export wizard or by clicking the Edit Job icon:
  • In the job options page, click on the Add or Edit Parsing Rules button:

Create Parsing Rule to Extract HTTPS Links

Now, in the parsing editor, create a rule to pull out links.

  • Click the Links tab.
    This tab is made to get all links from the email’s body.

    Click on the URL link you need to extract.
  • Once you click the link, the parsing rule is added. For example:
    Default rule: Skip 0 lines after No_0 (URL from body)::
  • In the Column Name field, type a clear name like Extracted Links.

Test and Save the Rules

  • Click the Test Rules tab to check if the right links are being found. The links will have HYPERLINK:
  • If everything looks good, click the « Back link in the top right corner to go back to the Job Options page.

Verify Your Spreadsheet

The spreadsheet will update in a few minutes. You should see something like this:
