Gmail conversation view is a Gmail setting that allows you to determine whether emails of the same subject are grouped together. CloudHQ label sharing allows sharing all emails in conversations or just emails explicitly added to the label. This is controlled with the option Do not share entire conversation – just individual email or Conversation View.
The is very important option. To ensure label sharing works correctly:
- When cloudHQ’s Gmail Label sharing is set with “conversation view” off (conversation view disabled), the everyone in the share must turn off conversation view in their Gmail.
- When cloudHQ’s Gmail Label sharing is set with “conversation view” on (conversation view enable), everyone in the share must turn on conversation view in their Gmail.
Setting the option when inviting users
If you disable the option Do not share entire conversation – just individual email, then once you share an email by applying a shared label on it, all emails in that conversation (such as replies and forwards) are automatically shared.
So if you want cloudHQ to continue sharing all emails in a Gmail conversation (such as replies and forwards) automatically, then disable this option.
On the other hand, if you do not want to automatically share all emails in a Gmail conversation (such as replies and forwards), then enable this option.
Setting the option for already created shares
In the cloudHQ web interface the option is called Conversation View. The possible values are ON (cloudHQ label sharing assumes that conversation view is enabled for all users) and OFF (cloudHQ label sharing assumes that conversation view is enabled for all users)
