What is Save Emails to Egnyte by cloudHQ?

It adds a Save to Egnyte button to Gmail, so you can save an email, with its attachments, to a folder in your Egnyte account in one click. How do I install it and save my first email?
Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store or the Microsoft Edge store, then refresh Gmail. Open an email and click Save to Egnyte. The first time, click Add Egnyte Account, sign in to Egnyte and allow cloudHQ to access it. Then choose the Egnyte folder and click Save. When the email is saved, a link in the message takes you straight to it in Egnyte.

Which Egnyte folders can I save to?
Choose a folder where your Egnyte account has permission to upload files. For shared files, select a subfolder such as Shared/Email archive, because files cannot be saved directly in /Shared. For private files, select your personal folder under /Private, or a subfolder within it. Your personal folder is different from the top-level /Private container.
Can I save attachments as well?
Yes. In the settings you can embed the attachments inside the saved document, or choose Save only attachments to store the attachments without the email itself. See How to save emails with attachments to Egnyte.
In which file formats are my emails saved?
You choose the conversion format in the settings: PDF, HTML, Text, or EML (an email file with attachments embedded). PDF is the usual choice for records you want to keep and print.
Can I save a whole conversation as one file?
Yes. In the settings, turn on Group emails into conversations to save the whole conversation as a single file instead of one file for every email.
Can I save emails to Egnyte automatically?
Yes. Open the label or search whose emails you want to save, click the Egnyte icon, choose the Egnyte folder and turn on Enable continuous saving. From then on, every new email in that label or search is saved to the folder as it arrives. If your version of the extension shows a Set Up Automatical Save button after you save an email, click it instead: it saves later emails from the same sender to the same folder, and clicking here lets you set your own sender, recipient or subject rules.
Automatic saving runs on cloudHQ servers, so you do not need to keep Gmail open. You can pause, change and monitor your automatic saves on your cloudHQ dashboard. To check that a sync is running, see How to monitor the status of sync.
Can I save Outlook emails to Egnyte?
Yes. Outlook emails are set up in the cloudHQ sync wizard, not with the Gmail extension. cloudHQ then automatically saves the emails and attachments of a Microsoft 365 Outlook folder, including its subfolders, to a Private or Shared folder in Egnyte. Hotmail is supported as well. The subfolders you have in Outlook are created in Egnyte too, and you can save the emails as EML, text, HTML or PDF files. Also check that the destination still exists at the selected location, especially if it was recently moved or renamed. Select the destination again and retry. If the error continues, contact support@cloudhq.net with the folder path and the exact error message.
