You can use 2-Step verification as added protection when you log into your Google account from a new browser, device, or application. When enabled, 2-step verification requires two factors for authentication before you can log in:
- Your Google account password
- A single-use verification code that is sent to your phone either by text message or voice call
If you sign up with cloudHQ based on Google OpenID, then you can log into cloudHQ using your Google account. cloudHQ uses Google’s API to sync data and the OAuth 2.0 protocol for authenticating a Google account.
If you have enabled Google 2-phase authentication, this is how cloudHQ handles it:
- You can log into cloudHQ only if you can log into Google.
- But you can login into Google only if you pass 2-phase authentication
All requests to the Gmail API must be authorized by an authenticated user for syncing or sharing emails.
