How to use this MailChimp extension
After installing the extension in your browser, you’ll notice new buttons in Mailchimp’s administrative interface, specifically within the section where users manage, design, and view their email templates. Beside the “Edit” button for each template, there will now be an “Open in Gmail” button, as illustrated in the provided screenshot:
Simply locate MailChimp template you need to use and click on the button icon “Open in Gmail“. Gmail will be opened and the selected template will be embedded into your compose email message window where you can personally sent it out to your email receipients. You can add subject line, recepients, and make any necessary changes before hitting the send button in your Gmail.
Recipients will notice that the email comes from your personal address. Using a “no-reply” email address, especially if the tempalt is sent directly from MailChimp, can create the impression that the company is not open to feedback from subscribers or customers.
With the “Mailchimp Templates in Gmail” extension, your Mailchimp templates are now seamlessly integrated into your Gmail. This allows you to access them anytime as saved email templates in Gmail, eliminating the need to log into Mailchimp.
In Gmail, the “Gmail Templates” icon can be located in two areas:
-
In the top-right corner of the Gmail interface, adjacent to the “Search email” input field, as illustrated in the screenshot below.
-
When composing a new email or replying to a message, the icon is present in the lower toolbar of the message window, as depicted in the accompanying screenshot
When you click on the “Gmail Templates” button, a modal window will appear. This window allows you to select from various templates to embed in your email. It features the following tabs: “Free Templates“, “Team Templates“, “MailChimp“, “HubSpot“, and “GmailDrafts“. For instance, by selecting the “MailChimp” tab, you’ll see MailChimp templates displayed in the lower portion of the window, from which you can choose your desired MailChimp template.
